Patient, personal help with everyday technology.
Have a question about your phone, computer, email, printer, television, passwords, or a suspicious message? Cognito Personal Tech Support gives you a trusted local person to call—without the frustration of a call center.
Serving Reno, Sparks, and nearby Northern Nevada communities. Remote help is also available.
Help for the questions that come up in real life
You do not need to be “bad with technology.” Modern devices change constantly, instructions are often unclear, and many companies make it difficult to reach a real person. We help you solve the problem and understand what happened.
Phone and remote help
Call with a question or schedule a secure remote session so we can look at the problem with you.
Local home visits
When the issue cannot be solved remotely, members can schedule an onsite visit in the local service area.
Scam and safety checks
Not sure whether an email, text, phone call, pop-up, or invoice is legitimate? Ask before you click or pay.
Choose the amount of help that fits your life

What to expect
Do you answer every phone call immediately?
We may be helping another customer when you call. Leave a message and we will acknowledge your request during business hours, then help by phone, email, remote session, or appointment.
What does a 15-minute support unit mean?
Support time is rounded to the next 15-minute increment. For example, a ten-minute call uses one unit. A 25-minute remote session uses two units.
Can unused support time roll over?
Unused time may roll forward for one additional billing cycle, up to the amount normally included in your plan. This gives you flexibility without allowing unused time to accumulate indefinitely.
Can you come to my home?
Yes. Scheduled local home visits are available to members. A local service-call fee and a one-hour minimum apply. Travel outside the normal service area may cost more.
Will you ask for my banking password?
No. We do not retain banking passwords, initiate money transfers, purchase gift cards or cryptocurrency, or ask you to hide support activity from family members or financial institutions.
Can you work with my son, daughter, or caregiver?
Yes, with your permission. You may authorize a trusted person to discuss support issues or receive updates. You remain in control of your information and account.
Is this an emergency or 24-hour service?
No. This is scheduled personal technology support during normal business hours. We do not provide emergency dispatch, medical advice, financial advice, or legal advice.
Help us shape a better technology support service.
We are inviting a small group of local older adults and families to review the program, share feedback, and consider becoming founding members. There is no obligation to join.
